They like to dwell in warm temperatures, which is why they are mainly found in spring and summer. You can find them near food waste such as rotting fruit, leftover drinks (wine, fruit juice, beer, etc.) or coffee pods and tea bags. But organic material such as plants and leaves also attract them.   <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Hoe-kan-je-fruitvliegjes-dan-bestrijden?\"><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>So how can you control fruit flies?<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To control fruit flies, you can apply several tips.   <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Use an organic fly spray or make your own fly trap. You can do this with a plastic box that you make a small hole in. You add a sugary substance such as granulated sugar or honey and then also a layer of vinegar and water. The flies will find a way in, but not back out afterwards.     <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open your windows or doors (and don&#8217;t forget a fly door or window). Fruit flies, in fact, do not like drafts.   <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Clean your drains thoroughly as it is the ideal place for fruit flies to nest.  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To control fruit flies, it&#8217;s also best to change the garbage can regularly and keep your kitchen as clean as possible. Tip! Don&#8217;t clean with cleaning products that have a fruity smell, because that&#8217;s exactly what they love. You can instead clean with odorless <a href=\"https:\/\/probiotischreinigen.be\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">probiotic cleaners<\/a>.     <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Hoe-fruitvliegjes-voorkomen?\"><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>How to prevent fruit flies<\/strong>?<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you keep a few things in mind, you can prevent fruit flies in larger numbers. Therefore, pay attention to the following things:   <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Place a fly cover over your fruit basket. It is also possible that the flies have already laid eggs without your knowledge. Placing a fly cover prevents fruit flies from spreading to other areas of the house, but also prevents them from getting to the fruit from outside.    <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Remove food scraps from your kitchen and dispose of them in your garbage bin. Ideally, store it outside.
