Ventilate your home
If your laundry has to dry indoors, the most important tip is to properly ventilate your home. This is because during the drying of wet laundry, a lot of evaporation occurs. If you know that a load of wet laundry can sometimes contain as much as 2 liters of water, it probably doesn’t surprise you that the humidity level in your home can rise quickly. So opening a window or door is certainly not an unnecessary luxury, and what’s more, it also helps keep bacteria out of your home.
Choose the appropriate place
Hanging laundry inside your home can be difficult when you don’t have enough space to permanently place a laundry rack. For lack of space in a storage room or garage, it’s best to choose a room you don’t live in much, such as a bathroom or kitchen. Preferably, place your laundry rack in a place where it dries easily, such as by a window or close to the heater.
Be careful! Do not place your laundry on the heater, which can increase humidity and risk mold.
Use space-saving solutions
Is a large laundry rack in your hallway, bathroom or kitchen taking up too much space? A drying tower on wheels, several small laundry racks or a laundry rack to hang on the wall will save you a lot of space.
Make the laundry as dry as possible
Before hanging your laundry, it is best to squeeze it thoroughly or have it spin extra in the washing machine. The drier the laundry is when hanging, the less moisture is released and the faster it dries.
Tip: Leave space between garments when hanging.
