Safely clean the fryer? This is how you do it!
1. Getting started safely
Has the oil cooled down? Check! Has your fryer been removed from the outlet? Check! If necessary, wear protection on your hands and arms.
2. Pour off the oil
Carefully pour the oil away from the fryer and keep the oil in a separate box that you can seal. Instead of depositing the frying fat in your toilet or compost pile, you can safely drop it off at a collection point. You can find those collection points at the recycling park or in the supermarket.
3. Clean thoroughly
Cleaning your fryer can be done in several ways.
- With dish soap and warm water.
- Put about two dishwasher tablets in the fryer with water and turn on the lowest setting. You can wipe off the excess grease with a paper towel.
- You can also work with vinegar, baking soda and a steel wool sponge to remove stubborn grease stains.
- A probiotic cleaner can also be a great help to clean everything. The remedy degreases thoroughly, is very gentle on the hands and does not release toxins.
Tip: You can use your oil longer with a filter. That will prevent bits of fried food from getting into the kettle. But even then, if necessary, it is recommended to change the oil after 5 to 10 uses.
