Find the culprit
A musty smell in your home can be caused by several factors. Often, you may not immediately notice it yourself from where exactly the smell is coming from. Depending on the cause, you can take measures to remedy an unpleasant odor. Of course, prevention is better than cure. Ventilating your house sufficiently is a good idea anyway.
Caution! Ventilate your house before the arrival of the cleaning help so that the windows can be closed while cleaning. Cleaning during winter in a house of barely 10 degrees is far too cold and below the legal limit set by law. Once the cleaning help has left, you can open the windows again.
Bedroom
Leaving the windows open for an hour or two in the morning is enough to get rid of an unpleasant odor. In addition to airing the bedroom, washing the sheets also helps. Did you know that it is best to wash your sheets every two weeks?
Kitchen
Are odors from food scraps coming out of your garbage bag? A little cat litter at the bottom of the bag can absorb the moisture and make the odor go away. Don’t have cat litter in your home? Baking soda will do just as well! Vinegar and lemon are also miracle remedies that absorb odors. Put a bowl of vinegar in several places around the house or stick half a lemon in a running dishwasher.
Living Room
Fragrance sticks or scented candles can give your living room a fresher smell. Do you perhaps forget to replace or light them? Then an automatic air freshener is a better idea.
